Are running setting your mind free?

Just took a small run around the block, so to say.. Just to get some of the extra energy out off the system.. Sitting watching Le Mans is not really spending that much physical energy..

As I’m just cooling down a bit before streching out, I was reading a few articles, including one that said something like “Nakedrun is the new trend”. That caught my attention, funny enough. But the article was about a trend where people leave all the tech stuff at home, and just enjoy the run. That is kinda the way I run already, I’m chasing a runners high, where the run becomes a sorta meditative thing. Might be hard to achieve, but it is still my goal. Just experience the environment around my, listen to the sounds of the society.

My train of thoughts just went to dragons, so I better just go take a shower and watch some more Le Mans..

I’m running!

Think Pharrells Happy, just replace happy with running… Happy happy running tune going in my head.. Specially Mikey Bolts family guy version of that song..

With other words, I went for a nice little run.. Super enjoyable afterwards as always.. Still not in good shape, but not really counting on being that before the end of the summer anyway.. Maybe later.. Since I’m not really training towards anything special it is hard to motivate qua that. But yeah, love it anyway!

Not sure I’m making any sence, but my head is flying all over the place at this moment, so really hard to focus on one thing..

Yeah! Completely outta shape!

To justify that statement.. I just completed a 5km run in roughly 30 mins.. at least 30 mins from I left my phone in my appartment untill I was back in that appartment to stop the timer..

That is not excatly an impressive time for a guy of my age.. But hey.. I haven’t really done any sort of sports (other than skydiving, which doesn’t neccesary give you stamina for a run) for around 5 years time.. So with that in mind, I’m still pretty satisfied with myself.. Mainly for me knee not acting up today..

My last run prior to this one was monday.. So almost a week ago.. But when my knee started acting up I decided to give it a rest, don’t really wanna risk really hurting it.. And well.. Went for a good long run on the skates with a friend thursday, so at least got a little ecxersice during this week..

But yeah.. All in all.. A km time of around 6 mins is kinda long, but when I remember myself that I just started I think I can be pretty satisfied with myself for that anyway..

But now time for a strech and a much needed shower..

Just another saturday.. Would love to have something awesome to tell.. But have to admit that I don’t really have that is this moment.. Been spending most of my day/evening with friends.. Chilling.. Skating, walking or just laying on the bed talking about pretty much everything.. So awesome! Man that girl means the world to me at this moment..

Other than that all my time is going towards studying for the upcoming calculus exam on tuesday.. Yeah, it kinda sucks, but that is just how life is sometimes.. You just have to get through it.. I hope it will be fine, but yeah, I’m getting to the point where I’m loosing faith in it.. At least partially..

Regarding running that last few days have not been good to me.. My knee started hurting in the middle of the run monday, and whenever I walk for more than 10 mins it starts acking a bit.. So that really sucks.. So I more or less decided to take the rest of this week “off” running, to give it some time to relax.. Don’t wanna end up hurting myself.. But yeah, maybe tonight or tomorrow night I’ll go for a slow run again, just to get going..

Tonight is also boardgame night with some friends, so that is simply amazing! Gonna be nice to chill with those girls..!

I think that was all I wanted to say at this moment.. Might be back with more later.. Or I’ll just stick to tweeting it.. 😉

The joy of a run…

After a few days, too many, of not running.. I tied the shoes and went for a run.. I should really consult a running coach and get a real programme made.. I decided for a nice route of around 5km, but ended up taking the shortcut to make it just under 4km instead.. My knee wasn’t really playing along on the halfway.. but it started to play along again after a short period of walking.. But the rest of my body did not like what I was doing to it.. My stomach was trying to kill me from start to finish.. So really needed to visit the bathroom when i got home.. But with that out of the system, I started to enjoy the fact that I was back on the road.. Now just a few minuttes of streching out before putting on a movies slowly calming down and going to dreamland..
